Formula Ford Championship

British Formula Ford Championship, The breeding ground of Champions

Almost unbelievably, half of the 2007 Formula One grid graduated through Formula Ford.

But it’s not just the ones that have made it to F1, but look at this list of great drivers:

James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jody Scheckter, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill,Mika Hakkinen, Michael Schumacher, Ralf Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Eddie Irvine, Heinz Harold Frentzen, Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Allan McNish, Mika Salo, Nick Heidfeld, Kimi Raikkonen, Pedro de la Rosa, Anthony Davidson, Christijan Albers, Adrian Sutil

Formula Ford provided these drivers with the sort of learning experience about set up and mechanical grip that stayed with them throughout their careers. And what careers they have had!

This illustrious Championship continues with great prospects for its future. On the back of the spectacular success of the new Duratec 1600cc engine, Ford is providing its full backing for the Championship, with its ongoing support of the category.

Alongside is a package of promotional benefits to cover television coverage on Sky Sports.

Guest Drivers: Where grid space allows, the British Formula Ford Championship is very keen to invite in drivers who are not in a position to contest in the full championship on a guest basis. 1800cc Zetec cars may be permitted to compete on that basis!
